Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-22

These terms govern your use of the Shopify app Capyo: Dynamic Pricing and this website. Installing the app means you accept them. They sit alongside Shopify's own terms for app usage, which continue to apply.

1. Who you are contracting with

Capyo, operated by an individual developer ("we", "us"). Contact: gimbernat13@gmail.com.

Operator legal name and address: see the Privacy Policy.

"You" means the merchant that installs the app — the Shopify store owner, and anyone you authorise to use the app in your admin.

2. What the service does

Capyo monitors the rival shops you add. It reads their public product pages through a structured-first path — a Shopify store's /products.json, the WooCommerce Store API, or a page's JSON-LD — respecting robots.txt, identifying itself and keeping to the rate limits described in the Privacy Policy. It mirrors your own products and variants (price, compare-at price, SKU, barcode and inventory unit cost) from the Shopify Admin API, matches them to rival products by barcode first, then SKU, then candidate shortlists, and shows you the comparison.

Every tracked product is checked once a day; products you mark as priority every 6 hours. When a confirmed match's rival price moves, Capyo raises an alert with the old price, the new price, the rival and the change. Under a rule you have set it computes a suggested price — match the lowest rival, or beat it by an amount you choose — while never crossing the minimum margin floor you set. You either approve each change or, on a paid plan, let the rule apply it automatically. An applied price is written through the Shopify Admin API, logged with its old price, new price and source, and can be undone while no later change to that variant exists, within 30 days.

What it does not do: it does not monitor continuously; checks are daily and every 6 hours at the fastest. It does not guarantee any match — uncertain matches wait in the confirm queue and can never alert or change a price. It does not edit your theme, add anything to your storefront, read orders or customers, or promise any sales, revenue or profit outcome. It does not evade a rival's access controls; a shop that blocks it is reported, not forced. It can only compare the prices it is able to fetch, and it may miss a change a rival makes between checks.

3. Plans, billing and quotas

Products are counted as variants: every variant of a product counts toward the limit. Variants are included in the plan price — there are no per-product fees and no overage charges. Annual billing is not offered yet.

Shopify bills you, not us. Plans run on Shopify's Managed Pricing: the charge appears on your Shopify invoice, and Shopify's rules on trials, proration, taxes and refunds apply. Prices are in USD and exclude any taxes Shopify adds.

Reaching a quota: the control that would exceed your plan is disabled and the app says which quota it is. Nothing is silently charged.

Downgrading pauses the products and rival shops beyond the new plan's quota — their rows are kept, not deleted, and they resume if you upgrade. Automatic rules are disabled on Free. Uninstalling stops future charges at the end of the current billing period.

We may change prices for new billing periods; we will tell you in the app before a change affects you.

4. Your prices, your decision

You approve or set the rules; you own your prices. Capyo computes suggestions from the rival prices it fetches and applies them only under a rule you created — and, on Free, only when you approve each change. Every rule has a minimum margin floor computed from the variant's inventory unit cost; no automatic or approved change may cross it. Only a manual override with an explicit confirmation can go below the floor, and it is recorded as a manual change. A variant without a unit cost has no computable floor and can never be repriced automatically.

Rival prices are third-party data collected from public pages. They can be incomplete, stale, in another currency (Capyo does not convert currencies in this version), or wrong because a rival changed its page. Capyo reports what it fetched; it does not verify that a rival price is lawful, comparable or correct, and nothing in the app, on this website or in a support reply is a promise or prediction of any pricing, sales, revenue or profit result. You remain responsible for the prices in your store and for complying with the pricing and competition rules that apply to you. Capyo does not give legal advice.

5. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

We may suspend an installation that breaches this section, and will tell you why.

6. Availability and support

We run the service on a best-effort basis. There is no service level agreement on any plan, and none at all on Free. Maintenance, hosting incidents, Shopify platform outages or a change on a rival's side can delay a check or a fetch. A failed fetch is shown in the app with its reason and retried on the next cycle; a rival that blocks Capyo is marked blocked rather than forced. A failed Admin API price write is retried once and then surfaced with a Retry action; nothing is recorded as applied unless it was applied.

Support is by email at gimbernat13@gmail.com. We answer in English, German, French and Spanish during EU business hours. We do not promise a specific response time.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its code, its interface and this website belong to us. Your store data, your product information, your rules, and the alerts and price history the app generates for your store belong to you. Rival prices remain the data of the shops that publish them; Capyo stores only what it fetched from public pages and does not republish it.

8. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. On the Free plan, that amount is zero.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost sales, loss of data, any pricing decision or its outcome, a rival price being incomplete, stale or wrong, a price change you approved or asked a rule to make, or a change a rival made between checks.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for intent or gross negligence.

9. Termination

You can uninstall at any time, from your Shopify admin, without giving a reason. Uninstalling ends this agreement, stops future billing at the end of the current period, cancels your scheduled checks, and starts the deletion described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate an installation for a material breach of section 5, or if we discontinue the app — in which case we will give notice in the app first.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, uninstall.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of establishment. Mandatory consumer and merchant protections of your own country remain unaffected.
