Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Shopify app Conforma: EU Guarantee Label and this website. Installing the app means you accept them. They sit alongside Shopify's own terms for app usage, which continue to apply.

1. Who you are contracting with

EU Guarantee Label, operated by an individual developer ("we", "us"). Contact: gimbernat13@gmail.com.

"You" means the merchant that installs the app — the Shopify store owner, and anyone you authorise to use the app in your admin.

2. What the service does

The app puts the EU harmonised legal-guarantee notice and the harmonised GARAN durability label (Directive (EU) 2024/825; Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960) on your store's product pages in the shopper's language, with per-product guarantee durations, bulk assignment, a green-claims scanner and a dated compliance report.

Concretely, the app: renders the official Annex I notice and Annex II label through a Shopify theme app extension in the 24 official EU languages; stores the guarantee duration you choose per product as a metafield on your own store; scans your product, page and article copy for environmental claims banned by the directive and lists what it found; and generates a dated PDF summarising the state of your store at the moment you generate it.

What it does not do: it does not judge whether you are compliant, it does not decide whether a given guarantee qualifies for the label, and it does not modify your theme code.

3. Plans, trials and billing

• Free — $0, no time limit: the legal-guarantee notice on product pages and in the footer, all 24 EU languages, and the GARAN label on up to 5 products.
• Complete — $9.99 per month or $99 per year, with a 7-day free trial: unlimited labelled products, bulk assignment by collection, vendor or all products, the order-email snippet, EU-only display, the dated compliance report, and removal of the "powered by" line.
• Pro — $19.99 per month or $199 per year, with a 7-day free trial: everything in Complete plus the full green-claims scanner, legal-change alerts in the app, and priority support.

Shopify bills you, not us. Paid plans run on Shopify's Managed Pricing: the charge appears on your Shopify invoice, and Shopify's rules on trials, proration and refunds apply. A trial converts to the paid plan at the end of the trial period unless you cancel first. Prices are in USD and exclude any taxes Shopify adds.

Cancelling means uninstalling the app or downgrading to Free from the plans screen. Either stops future charges at the end of the current billing period. Downgrading is not destructive: labels beyond the Free limit stop rendering and the paid tools lock, but your settings and any reports you already generated stay available.

We may change prices for new billing periods; we will tell you in the app before a change affects you.

4. No legal advice

This app helps you display the harmonised notice and label required by Directive (EU) 2024/825. It does not assess your legal obligations and is not legal advice. Whether a producer guarantee qualifies as a commercial guarantee of durability under Article 2(14a) of Directive 2011/83/EU is your decision.

Nothing in the app, on this website, in a generated report or in a support reply is legal advice, and using the app does not make you compliant by itself. Enforcement of the directive is national and varies by member state. If you are unsure whether an obligation applies to you or whether a guarantee qualifies, ask a lawyer in your market.

5. Official EU artwork

The notice and label the app displays are the official graphics published in the Official Journal of the European Union. They are reproduced unaltered, as the regulation requires: no element of either graphic may be edited.

6. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

• You decide which products get a durability guarantee and for how many years. You are responsible for those figures being true.
• Do not use the app to mislead consumers, to display a guarantee you do not actually offer, or to present the official artwork in an altered form.
• Do not attempt to circumvent plan limits, reverse-engineer the service, resell it, overload it, or use it to attack Shopify or anyone else.
• You are responsible for keeping your own Shopify account secure and for what people you authorise do in your admin.

We may suspend an installation that breaches this section, and will tell you why.

7. Availability and support

We run the service on a best-effort basis. There is no service level agreement on any plan, and none at all on Free. Maintenance, hosting incidents and Shopify platform outages can interrupt the admin part of the app. The notice and label themselves are rendered by a Shopify theme app extension from assets on Shopify's CDN, so they keep working on your storefront even while our servers do not.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its code, its interface and this website belong to us. Your store data, your product information and the guarantee durations you set belong to you — the durations live in metafields on your own Shopify store, and stay there if you uninstall. Reports the app generates are yours to use however you like.

9. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. On the Free plan, that amount is zero.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost sales, loss of data, or for fines, penalties, warning-letter costs or damages imposed on you by an authority, a competitor or a consumer association.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for intent or gross negligence.

10. Termination

You can uninstall at any time, from your Shopify admin, without giving a reason. Uninstalling ends this agreement, stops future billing at the end of the current period, and starts the deletion described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate an installation for a material breach of section 6, or if we discontinue the app — in which case we will give notice in the app first.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, uninstall.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of establishment. Mandatory consumer and merchant protections of your own country remain unaffected, and nothing here deprives you of a right you have under the law that applies where you are established.
