Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Shopify app Capyo: AI Visibility & GEO and this website. Installing the app means you accept them. They sit alongside Shopify's own terms for app usage, which continue to apply.

1. Who you are contracting with

Capyo, operated by an individual developer ("we", "us"). Contact: gimbernat13@gmail.com.

"You" means the merchant that installs the app — the Shopify store owner, and anyone you authorise to use the app in your admin.

2. What the service does

Capyo replaces Shopify's basic /llms.txt with a product-rich template. You preview exactly what would be written — the Liquid source and a sample rendered from your own catalogue — before anything changes in your theme, and one click removes it again. The file is plain Liquid rendered by Shopify: it contains no URL of, call to, or dependency on Capyo. If Shopify has granted theme-write access, the app writes the file for you; without it, the app gives you the exact source to paste and detects a manual install by its checksum.

It runs six read-only checks on your store's public surface: is /llms.txt reachable, is the file the one the app wrote, does it list products, does /robots.txt allow the known AI crawlers, is /agents.md reachable, and is the storefront public. It never edits robots.txt or any other file it checks.

Its Web Pixel extension, running in Shopify's strict sandbox, attributes visits and orders that arrive from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, on every plan. From your catalogue it proposes a query set in your store's primary language, which you can edit. On Growth and Pro it asks OpenAI search and Perplexity every active query on a weekly schedule, through the app's own API access, and reports which answers surfaced your store, which mentioned it and which left you out, with the change since the previous run and 12 months of history.

What it does not do: it does not generate or rewrite content; it does not edit your products, collections, campaigns or theme files other than the llms.txt template; it cannot observe AI crawler hits and never shows a crawler-visit count; and it does not promise any change in how AI assistants answer questions about your store.

3. Plans, trials and billing

• Free — $0, no time limit: the llms.txt template with preview and one-click remove, the six checks, AI referral visits and orders, and five proposed queries shown as a locked preview. No engine call is ever made on Free.
• Growth — $29 per month or $290 per year, with a 14-day free trial: everything in Free, 20 tracked queries, weekly runs on OpenAI search and Perplexity, up to 250 engine calls per month, and the report with 12 months of history.
• Pro — $79 per month or $790 per year, with a 14-day free trial: everything in Growth, 100 tracked queries, up to 1,100 engine calls per month, in-app drop alerts, and the weekly email digest once email sending is enabled.

Shopify bills you, not us. Paid plans run on Shopify's Managed Pricing: the charge appears on your Shopify invoice, and Shopify's rules on trials, proration and refunds apply. A trial converts to the paid plan at the end of the trial period unless you cancel first. Prices are in USD and exclude any taxes Shopify adds.

When the next weekly run would exceed your plan's monthly engine-call cap, the run is skipped and the Report page says so. Nothing is silently disabled.

Cancelling means uninstalling the app or downgrading through Shopify. Either stops future charges at the end of the current billing period. If you downgrade below your number of tracked queries, the extra queries become inactive — they are kept, not deleted, and reactivate if you upgrade. Your report history stays readable.

We may change prices for new billing periods; we will tell you in the app before a change affects you.

4. How the report is measured, and what it does not promise

The report states the date of each run. Measured by asking OpenAI search and Perplexity through their APIs on that date. AI answers vary between people and over time; this is a sample, not a ranking.

No app can promise that an AI assistant will cite your store. Capyo reports what its queries returned — which questions surfaced your store, which mentioned it and which left you out. Nothing in the app, on this website or in a support reply is a promise or prediction of any AI-assistant result.

The answer excerpts shown in the report are third-party generated text. They are shown only to you inside the app and are not published by us.

5. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

• You choose the queries in your set and are responsible for their content and for not using the app to break the law or third parties' rights.
• Do not attempt to circumvent plan limits, reverse-engineer the service, resell it, overload it, or use it to attack Shopify, OpenAI, Perplexity or anyone else.
• You are responsible for keeping your own Shopify account secure and for what people you authorise do in your admin.
• You remain responsible for your own compliance with advertising, consumer-protection and data-protection law in the markets you sell into; this app is a measurement tool, not legal or advertising advice.

We may suspend an installation that breaches this section, and will tell you why.

6. Availability and support

We run the service on a best-effort basis. There is no service level agreement on any plan, and none at all on Free. Maintenance, hosting incidents, Shopify platform outages or a change on OpenAI's or Perplexity's side can interrupt the pixel, the checks or a weekly run. A run in which more than half the answers return an engine error is marked failed, is not shown as a report, and is retried once after 6 hours.

7. The llms.txt template in your theme

Writing the template requires Shopify's theme-write permission. Until Shopify grants that access, the app gives you the exact Liquid source to paste into your theme and detects a manual install by its checksum; the preview works the same way either way.

You can remove the template with one click at any time, and the storefront reverts to Shopify's own default llms.txt. Uninstalling the app is not a removal. On uninstall the app makes one attempt to delete the file, but Shopify normally revokes its access before the uninstall webhook runs, so that attempt can fail. If the file is left behind it keeps working, because it is plain Liquid with no connection to Capyo — remove it before uninstalling if you do not want it to stay.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its code, its interface and this website belong to us. Your store data, your product information, your query set and the reports the app generates for your store belong to you. AI-answer excerpts are third-party generated text, shown only to you inside the app; we do not publish them.

9. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. On the Free plan, that amount is zero.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost sales, loss of data, any AI-assistant result or the lack of one, or for changes in third-party answers or citations that we reported.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for intent or gross negligence.

10. Termination

You can uninstall at any time, from your Shopify admin, without giving a reason. Uninstalling ends this agreement, stops future billing at the end of the current period, and starts the deletion described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate an installation for a material breach of section 5, or if we discontinue the app — in which case we will give notice in the app first.

Ending the agreement does not remove the llms.txt template by itself — see section 7.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, uninstall.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of establishment. Mandatory consumer and merchant protections of your own country remain unaffected.
